 Established on December 23rd 1994, Yunnan Baoshan Oriental Tobacco Co., Ltd (BOTC) was invested by China Tobacco Import & Export Co., Ltd, China Tobacco Yunnan Import & Export Co., Ltd, Yunnan Tobacco Baoshan Co., and Yunnan Tobacco Baoshan Longyang Co., AS the leader of Yunnan oriental tobacco industry, the company¡¯s business are processing, purchasing storing and selling Oriental tobacco. Since its foundation, the company always sticks to the opinion of science, industry, agriculture and trade and practice the efficient management of based on humanism. The company takes too much attention on the product quality and always gives the best service to the customers. Because of these, the company develops very fast and gains large benefit.
In 1996, the company invested more than 60 million Yuan(RMB) to purchase the equipment from abroad and found the first modern oriental tobacco factory in China. The area of the warehouse is 17,000 square meters. It adopts the leading method bulk rack to store tobacco, which is good for tobacco alcoholizing and moisture control. In 2004, the company invested 15 million Yuan(RMB) to build the first Asian oriental tobacco soft-drying line which has improved the process technology. It has enhanced the quality of products, shortened the time for the tobacco storing and alcoholizing, and heightened the competitive power in the international market. Right now, the company, which has the ability to soft dry oriental tobacco and at the same time has the ability to process other varieties of sun/air-cured tobacco, stands at No.5 Oriental tobacco industry in the world and No.1 in China. It becomes the biggest one in China with its annual capacity of 5000 tons oriental tobacco.
 By years of hard-work, BOTC has set up oriental tobacco base in 10 towns and more than 30 villages in the suitable areas of the city. The oriental industry becomes the important way for farmers to get rich and increase revenue in finance. BOTC has formed a manufacture system through cultivating, purchasing, separating and processing. In 2000, the company has been certificated ISO9001 registration. Through putting quality control into practice and gradually improving the product quality, the oriental tobacco, which is the customers¡¯ favorite, reach the international standard for exporting. With its good quality and good service, the product, which praised by internal and external customers, is exporting to America, Europe, South Asia and Australia etc. more than 10 countries and selling to more than 10 cigarette factories in China. The company, which is keeping top 1 for continuous 10 years on the number of exporting, has experienced more than 10 years of developing and become the biggest oriental processing and exporting base in China. BOTC has made agreement with Philip Morris, BAT, JTI, Altadis and Alliance One etc. well-known tobacco accompany in the world on long-term supplying. And its product goes directly into the blending.
At the same time of developing oriental industry, the company studies unceasingly on other sun/air-cured tobacco, such as Cut Tobacco, Maryland Tobacco and Burley Tobacco and gets good achievement.
